Our history
In 2005, two established firms merged to form Spectrum Financial. These firms were DWL Accountants Pty Ltd and AAA Tax & GST Advisors. This merger was simplistic yet strategic; both firms had skill-sets and clients to bring to the table.
DWL's origin on the Gold Coast dates back over 40 years. In 1979, Les Dobbie moved to the Gold Coast, where he joined an accounting firm. In 1980 he became a partner in the practice that was to become known as DWL.
Les progressed and developed the firm over the next 25 years and built our current Southport offices in 1997.
The business expanded its services to include financial planning arm, DWL Financial Solutions Pty Ltd. Soon, finance broking services were added to help clients achieve financial security.
DWL's mission was to plan and manage individual and business financial security by building strong foundations and encouraging healthy growth. The result saw clients improve their lifestyle and create financial independence.
AAA Tax & GST Advisors was formed by Adem Becirevic in 1999.
Based on the Gold Coast with a diversified client base, AAA specialised in the preparation of income tax returns for all types of businesses and individuals in both current and prior years. The company also offered years of industry experience in up-to-date financial planning and accounting services.
Our growth has also been unique. While some organisations endeavour to create and work like a family, we truly are. It’s no coincidence that many of us here are related; brothers, sisters, in-laws, parents, siblings and on and on. What’s so rewarding is the fact that it works for us and for our clients.
Today, we live up to our name. We provide a full spectrum of financial services from 2 offices. Our long history of growth has been as much about our directors’ vision as client demand.
